THIS IS ALMA, A TRUE CHILD OF THE ALPS AND OUR NEWCOMER AT HAUNOLD

And it's in a class of its own. The new felt slipper from the Zacher family is manufactured using only local wool. 100 per cent pure new wool, undyed and natural, and of course biodegradable. Heat, pressure, and the knowledge of generations is all that we need to shape this long-lasting product.

We are extremely proud of the origins of this fluffy raw material.

Mountain sheep from the Schnalstal valley, upper Vinschgau and Puster valley supply the wool for the particularly durable twelve millimetre-thick felt sole.

The upper part is made by Zacher from fine merino wool from southern Germany (Lower Bavaria, Upper Bavaria, Allgäu, Upper Swabia and the Swabian Alb).

Robust soles and exquisite uppers: the best of two worlds is felted into a blank and pulled onto a last by hand.

If you prefer your slipper to be non-slip, we recommend that you apply our liquid natural latex.

Did you know? The name is inspired by “alma”, the Latin word for “nourishing”, and calls to mind the little flocks of sheep that graze up on the alpine pastures throughout the summer months. And also a cosy and durable natural product.
